Last year summer I teamed up with 19 other photographers to tell stories about block parties around NYC for @nytimes . I was assigned to a neighborhood in Queens organized by incredible coordinator Sudan Deane. Deane started the block party in 2014 with the goal of getting her neighbors to get to know each other, show up for each other, have fun, show love, and have unity in the community.
