Worked on a story about people who own food vendors in Manhattan Chinatown with the writer Elaine Chen for @nytimes . Read more about their insights on Chinatown’s changes at the link in bio. (Paul Eng will open Fong On tofu store in 2019. His family owned the oldest tofu and noodle shop in nyc Fong Inn Too which closed in 2017; Freeman Wong runs the family business Aqua Best Seafood which was built up by his mom about 30 years ago ; Muoi Truong has been running her fruitstand on the sidewalk of Mulberry Street near Canal for more than 20 years; Lewis Wu owns the largest grocery store in Chinatown).
So on my third try of applying I got this acceptance email to attend The New York Times - Lens - Photography Portfolio Review this year. I am so shocked. My sincere thank you to all who encourage to not accept failure/rejection as a measure of worth, but as a chance to grow. I must acknowledge, nothing is done on my own <3
